Although I know we appear to be on vastly polar opposites of the political ideology spectrum, when viewed as a circle, I suspect that we agree on many things.

I suspect there’s not a nickel’s worth of difference in your morality and mine.

I enjoy discussing diverse, resolute positions and passions of Religious and Political ideology, however, I do not mix the two.

I’m a follower of the Buddhadharma and I do mix everything together. It informs everything I do and say. I’m all a single piece.

Having said that, though, I kind of understand what you’re saying. I wouldn’t want the government run as a Buddhist enterprise. I’d like them to follow Buddhist principles, but then I’d be happy if they followed Christian principles instead of whatever “principles” they are following now.

Other than someone who is currently performing an evil act to harm others, I don’t hold a person’s past mistakes against them.

I’m a life coach and I specialize in at-risk populations which means addicts, felons, homeless, etc. I forgive people’s past mistakes on a professional basis!

I think Trump is currently “making mistakes.” I don’t care about his cheating on his wife(s). I don’t believe for an instant that he has stopped or won’t do it in the future if it’s convenient. But I just don’t care.

I do care about the other “mistakes” he’s making. I don’t think he “colluded” with the Russians but I think he gladly accepted their help influencing the election. And I think that’s not actually illegal. What’s illegal is obstruction of justice and he’s already confessed twice that he fired Comey for that purpose. I also think he’s involved in money laundering and taking bribes, but we’ve always known he was a grifter.

That doesn’t mean I want him removed from office. A lot of people voted for him and I want them to get what they voted for. His administration has created a lot of engaged and energetic Democrats and I’m grateful for that. And I think Pence would be worse in many ways.

I am not searching for an Autocratic Leader

That is a perfect description of Trump. I think a lot of people voted for him because they hoped he’d be an autocrat, but I don’t think you’re one of them.

These are among the reasons I enthusiastically voted for Donald Trump and evangelically support the continued success of his administration.

His administration is a seething brew of infighting, backstabbing and internecine warfare. Comey mentioned that he started his memos on Trump because Trump felt so much like the organized crime figures he’s prosecuted in the past. When I read that I thought he’d put his finger on something that I couldn’t quite figure out. Mob boss. That’s perfect. He requires an oath of fealty. He doesn’t want or need advisors, he wants toadies. Lackeys. Courtiers. Ordinary decent people won’t put up with that, so he’s left with, well, what’s left.

Trump’s successes so far are a tax cut for the rich and … destabilizing our relationships with other countries.
